Prismo is a local-first macOS generative visuals app for chat-driven creation and editing, audio-reactive scenes, webcam-reactive scenes, photo-based inputs, and multiple renderer types. This policy explains what permissions the app may request, what it does not track, and when an outside AI provider is involved.

Core Principles

How Prismo approaches privacy

The app is designed around local creation first. External processing is limited to the providers you explicitly choose to involve.

Local-first by default

Prismo is built as a local-first macOS generative visuals app. Its control window, separate canvas window, settings, renderer selection, and media-reactive workflows are designed to run on your Mac.

Permissions only for chosen features

Camera, microphone, and photo library access are only relevant when you choose webcam-reactive, audio-reactive, import, or save workflows.

No tracking

Prismo's privacy manifest declares no tracking, no tracking domains, and no collected data types.

Optional provider processing

AI features are optional. Prompts and account handoff are sent to the provider you select only when you explicitly enable a supported AI mode.

Permissions

What access Prismo may request

Permissions are tied to the exact feature you turn on. If you do not use a given feature, the related permission is not needed.

Camera

Prismo uses camera input when you enable webcam-reactive visuals.

Microphone

Prismo uses microphone input for audio-reactive visuals.

Photos

Prismo uses your photo library only when you choose photos for visuals.

Photos Add

Prismo may save rendered captures to your photo library when requested.

Screen and System Audio Recording

If you enable app or system audio capture, macOS may require Screen and System Audio Recording permission before Prismo can browse or capture app audio.

No tracking

Prismo does not position itself as an analytics or advertising product.

Prismo does not use tracking domains.

Prismo does not declare tracking in its privacy manifest.

Prismo does not declare collected data types in its privacy manifest.

Optional AI and agent modes

AI features are available only when you choose to enable them.

Prismo supports local API key mode and ChatGPT OAuth mode via a local daemon. These modes are optional. If you never enable them, Prismo does not need to send prompts or account handoff to an external AI provider for those features.

If you do enable one of these modes, prompts and any related account handoff are processed by the provider you selected only for that enabled mode. The provider's own terms and privacy practices apply to that processing.
